Tiny & Proud

This is a 40ft x 8ft x 9.5ft High Cube container home.  This was built with a brand new container.  We don’t use refurbished containers because we don’t know exactly what’s been shipped in the container previously, and we don’t want to take the chance that the container itself isn’t as structurally sound as it needs to be.

We used a spray in closed cell foam for the insulation and we have an R-value of 15 in the walls, and 35 in the floors and ceiling.  We have MDF for the walls and ceiling.  We chose those instead of a real wood because MDF has the look and feel of a real wood tongue and grove plank, but it won’t warp like real wood does.

The counters are quartz and the cabinets are wood.  There is space below the bar area for the combo washer/dryer unit.   The sink is a combo unit that’s a dishwasher/sink in one.  It also has a middle section specifically designed to wash your fruits and vegetables.  The sink is from a Chinese manufacturer called Fotile.  They will be releasing the sink in the US in a few months.

We went with a water proof vinyl plank from Lumber Liquadators for the flooring in the kitchen, living room and bedroom.  The bathroom has a tile floor.

There will be a mini split system for AC/Heat in the living room area and in the bedroom.  The closet space will be from Ori Living and it will be added to the living room area because it will double as the entertainment center as well.

We made room for full size appliances in this home.  The fridge is from Magic Chef and the range and microwave are a black stainless from Samsung.

We added a Haiku ceiling fan from Big Ass Fans and it fits the space perfectly.  It’s also very quiet and doesn’t shake.

This model is $80,000 USD plus shipping,  but we are running a promotion for the month of December.  All orders before January 1, 2020 will be able to order the home for $69,000 plus shipping.

This home is designed to be hooked up to city utilities for water, power and sewer.  We do take custom orders and we’ll bid the home accordingly.  If you have any questions, please email us at tinyhousemovement1@gmail.com.
